Corralejo is the northernmost town in the island of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. Corralejo is the most important tourist center of Fuerteventura and is famous for its dunes of sand (they are named "Natural Park of Corralejo"). The dunes reach the sea giving form at the "Grandes Playas" (Big Beaches), miles of white sand beaches that start from Corralejo towards south. Corralejo is still the perfect place for an excursion in the sea and in the land. Two most important to the "Isla de Lobos" (Lobos Island) and Lanzarote.

To reach Lobos Island there are 3 boats with service every hour. In Lobos Island you will take a bath in its turquoise waters, surf the famous wave of Lobos Island, have a beautiful trekking around the island ending at the top of the volcano from which you will have a tremendous view over Fuerteventura, Corralejo and Lanzarote.

The ferrys lines for Lanzarote are: Naviera Armas, Fred Olsen and Lineas Maritimas Romero. Starts are daily almost every hour and arrival at Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote.

Corralejo is a really nice place, as well, for all water-sport addicted. Surf, kitesurf, windsurf, diving, snorkeling, sailing,... you will find whatever you'll look for. There are many facilities for biking and athleticism as well.

Another interesting tourist site close to Corralejo is El Cotillo, a small fishermen-town, that quickly developed into a tourist destination. El Cotillo offers marvellous white-sand beaches and the beauty of a relaxed typical canarian style village.

Sites of interest nearby Corralejo:

Dunes National Park of Corralejo (the sand dunes park, with the most beautiful and most famous dunes of all Canary Islands)

Lobos Island (few minutes boat from Corralejo; this small island is well worth a visit for its beaches, the volcano's view-point and the nice trakking around the island)

Lanzarote (it is so close you can't forget it! Enjoy an entire day in Lanzarote to discover its beauty)

Cotillo (this fisherman's village of the west coast has incredible beaches and a handsome old town. The "Toston" tower, dates from the middle of the 17th century, was built to protect from pirates assaults.)

Tindaya Mountain (this sacred mountain, of worship for ancient inhabitants, can be visited under request)

The Colonels House (built in the mid-nineteenth century and located in the municipality of La Oliva, stands out for its architecture. It is one of the largest canary houses, but the most important is his official residence Coronelato, who had the military dominance forming La Oliva.

Canary Art Center (the most enriched art and culture centre in Fuerteventura. Enjoy this Art Museum where a variety of plastic works, paintings and sculptures are exhibited. There is, also, a space where you can get minor work, ceramics, etchings, screen prints and reproductions. The best and original souvenir to take home.
